摘要
旅游对外宣传材料里含有较多的文化元素,翻译时最易因缺乏跨文化意识而导致误译。文章剖析了怀化旅游对外宣传材料中的英译文错误,文章认为由于缺乏跨文化意识,译者翻译时容易停留在移字过纸的功夫上,所以培养翻译的跨文化意识是做好旅游对外宣传材料翻译的关键所在。
A great variety of cultural elements can be found in tourism publicity materials. Due to translators'lack of cross - cultural awareness, some mistranslations have been produced in Huaihua's tourism publicity materials. Translators tend to give literal translation while doing translating. The author argues that enhancing translators' awareness of cross- cultural communication is the key to successful translation.
