Mini-text and Its Application in Foreign Language Teaching

摘要 数据驱动学习理论的提出和建构主义理论的兴起已经使得语料库用于外语教学成为一种潮流。然而,由于语料库的巨大容量、语料库中语言来源的多样性、语料检索的复杂性等多种原因,在外语教学中直接使用大型语料库存有诸多不便和困难。针对这些困难,本文提出“微型文本”的概念,并基于经验简要介绍微型文本的制作方法,使得语料库更方便用于外语教学,以推进语料库走进外语课堂的进程,提高外语教学的效率和效果。 ing with foreign The convergence of the theory of Data-Driven Learning (DDL) and the constructivist approach to learn- language teaching and learning has made the use of language corpora in foreign language ern fashion. However, due to the large sizes of corpora, the diversity of the language in corpora, cated nature of the query syntax of corpus concordancing, the direct use of large corpora in foreign teaching a mod- as well as the compli- language teaching has been less widespread than it can potentially be. This paper proposes that mini-texts could be created and used to enhance the convienience and the efficiency of the use of language corpora in foreign language teaching. Such mini-texts, as in- troduced in the paper, can greatly reduce the pressure on the part of the teacher in class and effectively avoid the intensive training otherwise needed on the part of the students.
