摘要
本文以系统功能语言学语法隐喻理论为基础,以新的视角探讨名词化的生成机制、类型及人际功能。研究发现,以其巨大的可扩展性而成为缓解语义潜势压力的名词化根源于语法隐喻过程中的级转移和结构构型转移。除了备受关注的过程(动词)和特征(形容词)的名词化之外,小句的名词化、环境成分的名词化、连词的名词化都属于不同类型的名词化形式,其内部语法结构都有各自的特点。就其功能而言,名词化除了实现语篇功能,还诠释人际功能,这种语言现象的选择在一定程度上受到话语基调的驱动。
On the basis of the metaphor theory in systemic-functional linguistics, this paper probes into the mechanism, categorization, and interpersonal function of nominalization from a new perspective. It is argued that nominalization, as the major means of alleviating the pressure from the meaning potential due to its tremendous extensity, originates from grammatical movements of metaphorization in rank and in structural configuration. Apart from the much-discussed nominalization of processes （verbs） and properties （adjectives）, clauses, circumstantial elements and relators are subject to nominalization. Different types of nominalization are characterized with their own internal structures. With regard to functions, nominalization is motivated by tenor of discourse to certain extent, thus also construing interpersonal function：
