A Comment on National Currency Reserve Board

法币发行准备管理委员会,是南京国民政府为昭示法币信用而成立的机构。其成立是中央银行不健全、国内政治不统一的结果,成立之初对于推行法币、检查公告发行准备、提高法币信用发挥了积极作用。但由于其组织的不完备和职能的缺陷,非但没有达到最终确立法币信用的初衷,而且成为检验国民政府屡次失信的晴雨表。

National Currency Reserve Board was an organization set up by the National Government to declare publicly the currency credit. It was the result of Central Bank＇s faultiness and divisive inner political situation. It exerted some functions in extending National Currency,checking and proclaiming currency reserve during its initial stage. But due to its imperfect organization and incomplete function, it not only failed to achieve the intention of establishing currency credit, but also became the mirror of testing National Government＇s frequent promise-breaking.
