A Super Twisted Nematic （STN） LCD controller and driver chip is described in the paper.The process of ＂Top-down＂is used in the whole design and the chip is divided into hierarchy functions,at the same time,taking refence to design experience of similar controller and driver chip, and circuit modules are designed by circuit schematics input design and verilog program with synthesis technology.The key modules including inter-face time sequence, control circuit, driver circuit are discussed in detail. Modelsim and cadence spectre are respectively used to verify the function of digital part and analog part of this stn-lcd controller and driver chip and these results conform to the requirements of chip design .The chip may be applied to drive the display panel in cellphone, digital camera,MP3,MP4 product and so on.
