摘要
在列夫.托尔斯泰看来,莎剧《李尔王》存在着诸多艺术上的不协调,甚至指责它为一部糟糕的作品。本文试图以巴赫金对文艺复兴时期整体文化特点的分析,来回应托氏的这一指责,认为只有把作品放回其文化语境中,才能更好的理解作品。而巴赫金对文艺复兴时期文化的"狂欢化"特征的概括,正是解答《李尔王》艺术之谜的一把钥匙。
In the view of Lev Tolstoy, there is lots of inharmony in King Lear. He even thought this famous tragedy written by Shakespeare was an unsuccessful work. This article tries to respond to Tolstoy's criticism of King Lear through quoting the analysis of the whole artistic characteristic in Renaissance by Bakhtin, holding that a work could be understood better while being placed in its cultural context, and the carnival characteristic of culture in Renaissance summarized by Bakhtin is the very key to understand the enigma of art in King Lear.
