作为乔伊斯小说的开篇之作,《姐妹》在乔氏作品中占有重要地位。本文从《姐妹》的创作背景和过程入手,分析其主题和艺术风格,并与乔伊斯的其他小说进行纵向比较,旨在说明《姐妹》奠定了《都柏林人》的主题基调,蕴含了乔氏小说艺术新质的萌芽,成为乔氏小说创作的前奏。
Starting from the background and writing process of The Sisters, Joyce＇ s first published fiction and the opening story in Dubliners, the study aims to interpret its themes and Joycean fictional art in the perspective of comparing The Sisters with Joyce＇ s other novels. The Sisters might be considered as the overture for the themes and styles of the entire volume and even for Joyce＇ s oeuvre as a whole.
