Moby Dick is one of Melville＇ s greatest masterpieces, whose theme of revenge has been widely and much interpreted by scholars around the world. This essay analyzes the theme of revenge in this novel from the perspective myth-archetype, believing that this novel conveys Melville＇ s striking ecological consciousness that human beings must follow the natural laws and can never change it radically.
