试论大学教学地位的回归——基于纽曼《大学的理想》的思考

Analysis on the Status Return of University Teaching——Thinking of "The Ideal of University" of Newman

纽曼在《大学的理想》这本书中认为大学以教学为主,大学教师应把主要精力放在教学上。基于纽曼的这种观点来思考当今的中国大学,发现其不再热衷于教学有三个原因:高校教师评价不重视教学;年青教师不能安心于教学;少数教师不再从事教学。本文在全面分析这几个原因的基础上,提出了以下三个解决办法:改变重科研轻教学的评价方式;改善年青教师的待遇;提升教师自身修养。

In the book of ＂The ideal of university＂, Newman thinks that main work of university is teaching, the university teachers should focus on teaching. Based on the view of Newman＇s point to think today＇s Chinese University, we found that the teachers no longer interested in the teaching for three reasons： the evaluation of colleges and universities teachers ignoring the teaching; the most younger teachers are not put their heart to the teaching; a small number of teachers were no longer engaged in teaching. In a comprehensive analysis of the basis of a number of reasons, the article put forward the following three solutions： to change the evaluation way of the emphasis on research and taking the teaching lightly; to improve the treatment of young teachers; to raise their own self-cultivation.
