Inheritance and Creation： An Analysis of Mencius＇ ＂Theory of Valuing People＂

有些学者将孟子的民贵思想视为孟子在空谈，并未实施，是有失偏颇的。从人性论中挖掘孟子民贵思想的原因。从其仁政思想中凸显民为贵的恤民措施，正确理解孟子民为贵思想的本质。孟子将“民”视为历史发展的推动力，有其唯物主义的一面，但其未打破等级观念的束缚，始终站在“王”的立场去谈“民”。

Some scholars thought Mencius＇ theory of valuing people is at empty, yet to be implemented. This is biased. To research the reason of Mencius＇ theory of valuing people from the idea of Human Nature , to show the measure of love people from Mencius＇ though of benevolent government. It is important to help us to correctly understand the essence of Mencius＇ idea. Mencius＇ thought showed us that he took ＂the people＂ as the driving force of historical development. It has its side of materialism, but did not break the shackles of hierarchy, always talk about ＂the people＂ at the ＂Wang＂ position.
