The paper maintains that Marxist critical theory should not be categorized simply into modernism or post-modernism. The paper explains the general character of the methodology of Marxist critical theory, its value perspective in light of social classes, practicality of the theoretical critique, and the dialectical nature of the critical attitude of Marxist critical theory through comparison of modernism and post-modernism. The paper is meant to emphasize the unique characters of Marxist critical thoery and its theoretical and practical significance in the modern context.
