"自然"是王世贞品评书法时使用的一个最重要的衡量标准,王世贞所说的自然即"妙在有意无意之间"。他认为从规矩法度入,并琢之使无人工之迹,是造自然境界之途。而"有意无意之间"也并非书写者在书写汉字时不作构思安排,只是这种安排若自天成、令观览者无法察觉,也就是指极工之后的返朴归真。

Wang Shizhen＇s an important standard for the comment of calligraphy is the unaffected concept. His unaffected idea of appreciation of calligraphy is good at producing in the sense and senseless. He regarded that the unaffected works of calligraphy should be produced just like it in the natural environment without any sign of man-made and any modification. This is the final goal for calligraphy.
