An Improved Method of Face Recognition Based on Genetic Algorithm

针对常见的基于PCA的人脸识别方法在识别过程中所遇到的计算量大、分类特征不佳等问题,提出了基于遗传算法的PCA+2DPCA的人脸识别方法,并通过实验,利用ORL人脸数据库验证了该方法的可行性。

Principal Component Analysis （PCA） and two-dimensional principal component analysis （2DPCA） are two common feature extraction method used in face recognition, But they often meet two problems as big computation quantity and low classification speed when applied to face recognition. In order to solve the two problems, this paper proposes a new approach in combination with PCA, 2DPCA and GA. The experimental results on ORL face database show that this approach is feasible.
