基督教对罗马婚姻制度的影响

The Influence of Christianity on the Roman Marriage System

随着基督教国教地位的确立,基督教思想融入了罗马婚姻制度中,改造了罗马婚姻观,使婚姻建立的基础从延续家族宗祀演变为情爱。与此相应,罗马结婚制度、离婚和再婚制度都因基督教婚姻伦理观的影响发生着变革。然而,由于罗马皇帝在采信基督教信仰的同时保留了罗马传统习俗,加之基督教会从属于罗马帝国,因而基督教只能影响婚姻制度某些部分,而不可能使之基督教化。

As the Christianity was recognized to state religion, the conception of Christianity marriage was infused into the Roman marriage law. It occurred to change the system of roman marriage, which varied widely in the betrothal, the marriage impediments, concubines, divorce and remarry. As the Roman emperor adopted the Christ belief and maintained the Roman customs, furthermore, the church is subordinated to the Roman empire, the Christianity in fact influenced the marriage system to some degree without complete Christianity.
