随着科学技术的进步，机械向高速、重载、巨型及微型发展，对机械原理教材提出了新的要求。计算机与计算技术的发展给机构的分析与综合提供有力的工具。本文指出了编写新教材的重要性，提出了机械原理新教材的编写原则，介绍了该书的特点。该机械原理教材已于１９９８年４月由机械工业出版社公开发行。
