An Analysis of Tourism Staffer's Needs for English Language

专门用途英语教学的科学开展应以目标岗位需求分析为起点,目前高校旅游英语教学尚缺乏这方面的科学、实证的调查分析。本文通过问卷调查、访谈等实证调查分析方法,对大陆旅游从业人员的英语需求进行了分析研究。

Teaching of English for Specific Purpose （ESP） starts from analysis of needs in target situation, which needs the use of empirical approach. But this is rarely done in tourism English teaching in colleges of China's Mainland. This paper uses the empirical approaches of questionnaire, interview, etc. in the research of tourism staffers＇ needs for English language, which sets a model for the using of empirical approaches in needs analysis in ESP teaching. The results of this research are also valuable for the reform of Tourism English course in colleges.
