在总结我国绿色食品开发现状的基础上，阐述了我国发展绿色食品的必要性，分析了我国发展绿色食品的有利条件、存在问题和可行性，并针对性地从加强宣传力度、扩大销售渠道、提高产品效益、强化管理功能、增加财力投入、建好绿色食品基地以及控制污染、改善生态环境、确保绿色食品质量等方面，提出了发展我国绿色。食品的途径与方法。
