Depression is a recurrent and chronic mood disorder indi- cated by the evidences combining gene, molecular, cellular and im- aging. The symptoms of depression are related to the higher brain function, such as emotion, reward and cognition. The convergence of gene-environment interaction and neuroplasticity may provide a more general understanding of pathophysiology of depression and new approaches to antidepressant.
