A Brief View on the New Middle East Policy of the Obama Administration

奥巴马新政府上台后对布什政府的中东政策进行了较大幅度的调整，涉及政策重点、反恐重点、推广民主手段、推动中东和平进程等各个方面。这种调整将有助于改善美国在阿拉伯世界的形象，并对中东地区形势和大国关系产生不同程度的影响。但由于这种调整只是一种策略性调整．而非根本战略的调整，因此，奥巴马的如意算盘必定大打折扣。

After coming to power the Obama administration made readjustments to the Middle East policy of the Bush administration by a big margin, touching such aspects as policy priorities, focal points in the war on terror, introduction of democratic means and promotion of Middle East peace process.The readjustments will contribute to the improvement of the U.S.image in the Arab world and exert diversified impact on the situation and big power relationships in the region.However, as the readjustments are merely tactical in nature, it is certain that Obama's calculations will fall short of his promise.
