Tradition and Modernity:Promoting China's Development with Unity of Opposites

民族传统与现代化的辩证关系一直是各国现代化进程中始终伴随的一组命题,因而也是学术界研究的焦点之一。通过阐述传统的涵义及其与现代化的关系,认为真正意义上的现代化是在传统的起点上,实现传统向现代的转换,达到对立中的统一。在中国的现代化进程中,民族传统需要给予极大的关注,善待民族传统,实现中国由传统社会向现代社会的和谐转换。

The dialectical relationship between tradition and modernization has always been a proposition to every country in its process of modernization, and a focus in academic circle as welt. In view of the meaning of tradition and its relationship with modernization, it could be said that modernization,in its real sense, starts from tradition and achieves transformation from tradition to arrive at the unity of opposites. In the process of modernization in China, we should attach more importance to national tradition and cherish it, so as to achieve our transformation from traditional society to a modernized one in a harmonious way.
