Under the background of mass higher education and the rapid development of market economy, China＇s application-orientated universities are confronted with developing opportunities as well as severe challenges. Therefore, application-orientated universities should have their own clear goal and orientation by prioritizing the advantage and characteristics of talents development. They should reform and expand specialties to strengthen students＇ social adaptation ability. They should update curriculum system to improve the quality and level of talents development. They should strengthen practical teaching and train students＇ ability to practice, so that practice-oriented talents who can adapt to local economic construction and social development can be fostered.
