重庆巫山下湾遗址发掘简报

A Preliminary Report of Excavation at the Xiawan Site in Wushan,Chongqing

下湾遗址位于重庆市巫山县双龙镇下湾村一至四社境内,东邻大宁河。2002年5月,武汉市文物考古研究所等在遗址范围内布置3×10米探沟12条,布置5×5米探方72个,累计发掘面积2215平方米。发现东周、两汉、北宋等时期的陶窑、房址、墓葬、灰坑、灰沟等遗迹103处。出土有铜器、陶器、瓷器、石器、钱币等类别文物180余件。此次发掘对研究和了解峡江地区古代文化面貌具有重要意义。

East to the Daning River, the Xiawan site is located in between the No. 1 and No. 4 se （residential community） of Xiawan Village in Wushan County, affiliated to Shuanglung town in Chongqing Municipal. In May 2002, archaeologists from Wuhan Municipal Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology excavated a total of 2215m？, including twelve 3× 10m trenches, and seventy-two 5×5m excavation squares. The excavation revealed 103 cultural features from the East Zhou, Han, and Northern Song periods, such as pottery kilns, cemeteries, burials, earthen pits, ditches; and more than 180 artifacts such as bronzes, pottery, ceramics, stone tools, coins, etc. The excavation is significant in researching and understanding cultural history of the Three Gorges area.
