在中国图书馆发展史上,20世纪是图书馆事业取得重大成就、出现了三次大的发展高潮的历史时期。尤其在20世纪之初引入西方图书馆近、现代化办馆理念之时,众多文化名人参与其中,从理论与实践上对中国图书馆事业产生了极大的推动作用,为其后来的发展奠定了良好基业,历史应对他们给予充分的估价和褒扬。

In the history of development of libraries in China, great achievements were made in the 20th century, in which 3 great advances occurred. In the beginning of the century, in particular, together with the introduction of modern and contemporary concepts of library management, many cultural celebrities and famous scientists were involved in the promotion of modern li- braries and helped to lay a good foundation for their subsequent growth. Therefore, they should enjoy favorable estimates and huge compliments in the history.
