The paper from a sociological perspective, explores progressively the necessity of implementing matemity insurance systems respectively at a macro level （ in the three fields of demographic transition regularity, economic system reform and population quality improvement）, a meso level （ in the three fields of network changes with social support, women＇ s status protection and guarantee of an equal footing for corporate competition）, and a micro level （ in the three fields of reproductive concept modification, childbirth risk and embodiment of women＇ s reproductive value）, and deliberates the inevitability of the implementation and expansion of maternity insurance systems.
