两性关系是否平等和谐对于构建社会主义和谐社会具有举足轻重的作用,两性的和谐发展是"人的自由而全面发展"的基本特征之一,是实现社会和谐不可或缺的重要条件。两性和谐是人类社会最基本的和谐,两性关系渗透于不同民族、不同阶层、不同群体的发展过程中,影响着工农之间、城乡之间、地区之间的发展进程,制约着政治、经济、文化、社会的可持续发展,影响着其他社会关系和谐的实现。在构建和谐社会中贯彻男女平等基本国策,就是要促进男女两性平等相待、协调发展、共同进步、共享成果。

Gender equality and harmony play an essential role in constructing harmonious socialist society, harmonious gender development is one of the fundamental features of people＇ s free and comprehensive development, and it is an important condition to realize social harmony. Gender harmony is the basic harmony of human society which penetrates into the developing process of different nations, different social classes and different social groups. And it affects the development between workers and farmers, cities and countryside, and different areas, restricts the sustainable development of politics, economics, culture and society, and influences the realization of harmonious social relations. To implement gender equality in constructing harmonious society, our task is to promote the equal treatment, harmonious development, mutual advance and mutual sharing between male and female.
