标题是新闻语篇的灵魂,具有统领全文的功能。标题中不同语言形式的选择,反映了新闻报道不同的侧面与意义,体现媒体的立场和观点。文章结合实例从批评性语篇分析的视角,以系统功能语法的基本理论为指导,在分类、及物性、情态和转换等方面对美英主流传媒的新闻标题进行分析,揭示了新闻标题反映西方媒体的意识形态以及客观报道的相对性,指出受众在解读外媒新闻标题时应注意培养批评性语言意识。

Compared to be the soul of a news discourse, news headline can condense the whole story. The choice of different language expressions in the headlines reflects different perspectives and orientations in news reporting and demonstrates viewpoints of the media. Coupled with empirical data, this study attempts to analyze news headlines in U. S ＆ British mainstream media in terms of classification, transitivity, modality and transformation under the guideline of systemic-functional grammar from the perspective of critical discourse analysis. It is concluded that the readers should cultivate critical language awareness in interpreting news headlines in foreign media since they represent different ideologies of respective media and the objective reporting is relative.
