On Chomsky＇s Transformational Generative Grammar

二十世纪五十年代末乔姆斯基转换生成语法理论的问世，在语言学界掀起了一场“乔姆斯基革命”。转换生成语法创造性地提出了“语言习得机制”假说，并运用转换规则去解释一些其它理论所不能解释的语言现象。文章介绍了乔姆斯基转换生成语法的产生及发展，分析了转换生成语法的内涵，并探讨了转换生成语法理论对语言学研究的重要意义。

Chomsky＇s introduction of transformational generative grammar theory at the end of the 1950s launched a ＂Chomsky＇s revolution＂ in the language of scholars. Transformational generative grammar creatively put forward the concept of ＂language acquisition device＂ hypothesis and tried to use transformation rules to explain the phenomenon of language which a number of other theories can not explain. This article describes the emergence and development of Chomsky＇s transformational generative grammar and analyses its meaning. Finally, it sums up the important meaning of Chomsky＇s theory in linguistic research.
