王实甫在《西厢记》中塑造的张生形象,无疑带有元代"书会才人"的成色,他或苦闷抑郁、或放浪形骸、或玩世不恭、或渴望爱情功名,都是特殊历史时期元代文人共有的心态,文章试图从张生形象着眼,挖掘元代文人的心态。

The image of Mr. Zhang being created by Wang Shifu undoubtedly shows characteristic of scholars inYuan Dynasty. He is depressed, unrestrained, cynical or thirsty for love and fame, which are the shared mentality of scholars on the special historical period of the Yuan Dynasty. The thesis attempts to analysis the mind of scholar of Yuan dynasty through the image of Mr. Zhang.
