This paper intends to analyze his masterpiece-Winesburg, Ohio from the modernist perspective in terms of its modernist subjects, writing techniques and unconventional expressive skills; and points out that Winesburg, Ohio is an innovative writing, and has demonstrated the full range of Anderson＇s modem consciousness.
