The paper introduced the research development of Prins reaction catalysts, summarizing application of various catalysts form on Prins reaction, emphasising on discussing effects of selectivity and specificity on zeolite catalysts and ionic liquids, and pointed out that com- pounding use of new catalyst will be the direction and hotspot for the future research.
