Autophagy and tumor radioresistance

自噬是真核细胞降解自身的细胞质和细胞器实行“自我消化”和降解产物再利用的一系列生化过程，它广泛存在于真核细胞中，也在肿瘤的放射治疗中被激活。它既是细胞死亡的形式之一，也是细胞消除辐射损伤产生辐射耐受的一条重要途径，近年来的研究发现通过调节自噬及其相关基因可以降低肿瘤细胞的辐射耐受性和增加其放射敏感性。

Autophagy is a physiological process that widely exists in eukaryocytes,it results in the degradation of cytoplasm and cell organelle,and recycle the degradation products. It is frequently activated in tumor cells treated with irradiation. Autophagy is not only a form of cell death but also an important way to eliminate cell radiation damage and generate radiation tolerance. Latest findings reveal that regulation of autophagy and some of autophagy-related genes can sensitize resistant earcinoma cells to radiation.
