Gu Sui, who is rich in innovative spirit, is regarded as a great master of Ci. He has once advocated to embody new spirit and bring forth new artistic conception in Ci by spoken language and dedicated all his life in writing to achieve the goal. He is good at depicting ideas, emotion and life of modem people in employing new language in his Ci-works. Thus, due to the real and original northern features instead of traditional artistic concept of Ci, his Ci-works show the unique artistic style.
