现代编辑应不断适应新时期社会经济的发展,具备一定的基本素质与能力,并不断加以提高。这主要包括政治素质、职业素质、文化素质和创新素质;应具备的基本能力包括选题策划能力、语言文字能力和计算机应用能力。

Modem editors should continue to adapt to social economic development, and they must possess and continually improve their basic qualities and abilities. Modem editors should have the basic qualities including political quality, professional quality, cultural quality and innovative quality. They also should have the basic abilities including topics planning ability, linguistic ability and the ability to apply computers.
