This paper briefly introduces the surveying theory of railway switch positioning mode, analyzes the relationship between OC and switch mumber, points out the easy calculating methods of OC. Take No. 12 lateral turnout as an example, the paper explains the new surveying methods of switch positioning mode. Its advantages are quick, accurate and easy operating.
