摘要重症监护病房，有的地方称为加强医疗病房，其英文全称为intensive care unit（ICU），现在作为医院建设中的必需部分，随着危重病医学在临床中地位的提高，越来越得到重视。重症监护病房的设计，国内也没有一个成熟的模式可以参考。但是重症监护病房，由于它应用对象的特殊性，在建筑设计上也存在着特殊的要求，而不像其他专业科室有单纯一张床位就可以开展医疗活动了。
