Thoughts on the Future Growth of the Chinese Pulp and Paper Industry

中国的造纸工业是人民文化生活和社会经济活动所必需的重要原材料工业，其发展速度令人瞩目。但目前存在突出的结构矛盾及严重污染问题。分析发展前景，机遇和挑战并存。对措施进行了探讨。

The Chinese pulp and paper industry has been always playing an important role in the development of national economy.It has been growing significantly since the execution of the Open Policy in the country in the early eighties.Major problems confronting the Chinese pulp and paper industry(e.g.irrational structural framework of the industry as an entity,severe pollution etc.)are discussed.Challenges anticipated in the future growth of the Chinese pulp and paper industry are examined;countermeasures against such challenges are proposed.
