摘要
从元语用意识(metapragmatic awareness)的角度结合话语关联理论,对戏剧《推销员之死》中的话语标记语进行分析,揭示了话语标记语与语言使用者的元语用意识之间的关系,总结了话语标记语的四种主要元语用功能即缓和面子威胁的功能、强调或突出命题的功能、标示对命题态度的功能以及连贯和开启话题的功能。此类研究有助于人们更科学地理解和生成话语。
As ostensive leading markers in communication, discourse markers play a key role in producing and interpreting the discourse. Integrating the relevance theory, this paper explores the relationship between discourse markers and language users' metapragmatic awareness in Death of a Salesman,and summarizes four main metapragmatic functions:a face threatening act mitigator; an emphatic variant; an attitude indicator and the link or initiator of a discourse. Such a study might help to better understand the cognitive process in the construction and interpretation of a discourse.
