从边际效用递减规律看语言石化现象

A Study on Fossilization from the Perspective of the Law of Diminishing Marginal Utility

边际效用递减规律是经济学中的一个基本规律,不仅适用于人的消费行为,也适用于人们的其他行为,语言学习也不例外。语言学习到了一定阶段后,学习者普遍面临水平停滞甚至退步的现象,称为语言石化现象。语言学研究者从语言学的角度,研究并解释这一现象。从经济学的边际效用理论视角出发,也可以就这一现象产生的原因进行论证与解释,并可以就解决语言学习中的边际效用递减提出应对策略。

As a basic law in economics, the law of diminishing marginal utility not only applies to consumption behavior, but also applies to other behaviors of human beings. Language study is no exception. Fossilization is a phenomenon in linguistics which reveals that the language proficiency of learners will halt or even decline after 6 to 12 years of study. Researchers in the linguistic field have put forward various reasons to explain this phenomenon. However, fossilization can also be explored from the perspective of the law of diminishing marginal utility. This article illustrates the fact that language study also conforms to the Law of Diminishing Marginal Utility, explores the reasons why utihty diminishes in language studv and finally suggests some strategies to solve the problem.
