从“除”的英汉表达看翻译对等

The Expression of "Chu" in Chinese and English:A Study on Translation Equivalence

对等是翻译理论的一个中心概念。以"除"字为例,通过分析汉语"除"的定义,比较英汉文版的《双城记》语料,及其对比英汉文相关格式,指出英汉互译的原语与目标对等词的选择,不能简单的按照字面意思翻译。

Translation equivalence is a key concept in translation theories. The present article takes ＂Chu＂ pattern for example, by comparing and analyzing ＂Chu＂ in the Chinese and English version of A Tale of Two Cities and the related structures of ＂Chu＂ in the two languages, points out that in translation, the selection of equivalent words in source language and target language is not a simple translation in accordance with the literal meaning.
