摘要
《西游记》多以词赋形式描摹山水画卷,画卷中的山水多为妖魔鬼怪的藏匿之地、神道仙佛的居住之所,且小说故事的演进基本完成于山水之间。吟诵词赋,描摹山水,设置与山水密切相关的情节,并不是作者在简单地表达对山水的喜好或炫耀才情,而是在尊重史实的基础上,通过故事的构设与情节的推演,全面阐释山水的文化品格,充分展现中华民族坚忍执著的民族精神,同时也为《西游记》巧妙地铺设了一条贯穿小说始终的叙事线索,从而成就了小说的叙事策略。
Poetry is employed to describe natural landscapes which happen to house Buddha, gods or demons. More than lauding natural beauty or showing off scholarship, the author skillfully expounds the cultural character of the landscape and fortitude of the Chinese people. Historical evidences together with the plot development are also instrumental. Meanwhile, the author buries a narrative clue throughout the whole story and accomplishes a narrative tactic of the work.
