The study-centred theory is a new idea about classroom English teaching in 1990s, whose basis is the foreign language cognition which takes language study process as the language cognition process and emphasizes the language cognition characteristics and the students＇ self-study. Applying the study-centre theory to English teaching for normal college students can get twice the result with half the effort.
