A Brief Analysis on the Effect of Westernization Movement on the Modernization of Politics and Social Consciousness in China

洋务运动引进西方先进的科学技术,提出实行西方民主政治制度的主张,促进了资本主义经济的发展,也促进了民主革命力量的产生和壮大,从而促进了近代中国政治民主化。洋务运动学习西方,提倡资产阶级的价值观念和民主思想,促进了中国社会意识的多元化发展。

During the period of Westernization Movement, western advanced science and technology were introduced into Chain, western democratic political system was proposed by some people to put into practice, obvious achievement was made in the development of capitalist economy and democratic revolution. As a result, westernization movement had greatly promoted the democratization of Chinese politics. Meanwhile, this movement encouraged capitalist concept of value and democratic ideals, which had also promoted the diversification of social consciousness in China.
