It describes the main functions of the Dispatching Management Information System (DMIS) for railway transportation, which include the real-time monitoring and the processing of the management information system at the dispatching center of the Ministry of Railways, communication system of traffic control, the dispatching centers at both the railway administrations and subadministrations, and the traffic control supervising center at the junction-terminal; it introduces the basic technical structure of DMIS which being the network system of train dispatching, traffic control and management for the whole national railways.
