提高海员有效交流能力——谈谈我国现行航海英语教学与考试制度

To Improve the Ability of the seafarer's Effective Communication——Discussion on Our Current Maritime English Teaching and Examining System

针对当今海员国际化现状,通过案例和国际上对海员"有效交流"能力的要求等,阐述了船上船员之间以及船岸之间进行有效交流的重要性,从而阐明作为海员交流媒介的航海英语的重要性,分析了我国现行航海英语教学和考试方面存在的不足,提出了笔者关于改进航海英语教学与考试制度的建议,以期提高海员有效交流能力。

With the fast development of the shipping industry, ship＇s crew become more and more internationalized, a mixed crew from different countries working on beard one ship is very common today. How they can communicate effectively needs to be much concerned. This paper focuses on the need for effective communications at sea and shore and highlights intemational developments aimed at ensuring that seafarers gain the appropriate skills and knowledge to communicate effectively and efficiently. Examples of communication problems at sea and their consequences are dealt with, the importance of maritime English, as the medium of effective communication, are construed, after which the shortcomings and problems existing on our maritime English teaching and examining system are discussed, followed by some suggestion on overcoming these problems, in order to improve the ability of seafarer＇s effective communication.
