摘要
明代"九边"的宣府、大同二镇,因地理区位和明蒙对峙的军事态势形成一体化的军事防务区。这一防务区"拱卫京师",战略地位十分重要,直接导致了协调区域军事防务的宣大总督设置。
Xuanfu(宣府) and Datong(大同), belong to the Nine Border Areas(九边) of the Ming dynasty, became one unified military defending district, because of their geographical location and the conflicts between the Ming dynasty and Mongol tribes. This military defending district safeguarded the capital, and its important strategic position led to the set up of Xuanfu-Datong Viceroy(宣大总督)who in charge of the defending affairs of the district.
