Inspiration for the School Moral Education in Our Country from the Singapore Experience

新加坡在短短的四十多年时间里,由一个资源匮乏、政治动荡的贫穷小国发展成为一个社会经济高度发展、政通人和、人民生活富裕的花园式城市国家,是与它成功的学校道德教育密不可分的。研究新加坡这个以华人为主体且以儒家伦理为本的国家的学校道德教育,学习和借鉴新加坡道德教育的成功经验,对解决我国在道德教育中遇到的困惑,提高我国道德教育的实效具有十分重要的现实意义。

In a period as short as forty years or so, Singapore, a poor small country of little resources and frequent political unrest, has become a Garden City known for its prosperity and stability, which is to a great extent attributed to its success in moral education in schools. As the majority of its population is of Chinese and the with their moral ground rooted in Confucian ethics, it can be very practical and constructive to study the school moral education in Singapore, so as to find effective keys to the problems concerning that in our own country.
