Tumor Stem Cell and Tumor Metastasis

肿瘤转移意味着病情恶化，它使治疗变得更加困难，是晚期癌症不能手术根治的主要原因，也是影响肿瘤患者生存期的首要因素，已成为肿瘤研究领域的热点和难点。随着对肿瘤转移的临床与基础研究的不断深入，极大增进了人类对于肿瘤转移机制的认识，然而种种迹象表明，肿瘤转移的分子和细胞学机制仍不清楚。近年来，随着干细胞领域研究的飞速发展，肿瘤干细胞在急性白血病及多种实体肿瘤中的相继分离成功，给肿瘤研究带来惊喜，同时也使人们对肿瘤认识发生观念性的改变。

Tumor metastasis means more advanced stage of disease, which make clinical treatment more difficult. Tumor metastasis causes patients with terminal cancer to miss chance of radical surgery. It is also a primary factor to affect overall survival of patients. More and more researches focus on tumor metastasis. In recent years, increasing basic and clinical researches on tumor metastasis progress our recognition to the mechanism underlying tumor metastasis. So far, however, very litter is known about molecular and cellular mechanism of tumor metastasis.
