摘要 Background and Objective Lung cancer, which has become the leading cause of tumor mortality in many countries, appears to be one of the most dangerous malignant tumors that Background and Objective Lung cancer, which has become the leading cause of tumor mortality in many countries, appears to be one of the most dangerous malignant tumors that is threatening human being's health and lives. Although researchers have dedicated themselves to the basic studies and clinical therapies on lung cancer, searching for new anti-lung-cancer drugs, especially the one with high anti-cancer efficiency and low toxicity is always necessary and urgent. Role of signal pathways in tumor has won more attention. Among these, signal transducers and activators of transcription 3 shows obvious relation with tumor progress. As an important cytokine, IL-6 involves in multiple aspects of tumor procedure by mediating STAT3 activation. IL-6/ STAT3 pathway may be a new target for lung cancer treatment. Current studies have proven the antitumor effects of Plumbagin in multiple tumors and this drug can affect the cell proliferation, apoptosis and cell cycle. A research from Gao found Plumbagin inhibited prostate cancer cell proliferation by inhibiting IL-6/STAT3 pathway. This prompted that the mechanism of Plumbagin may be tightly related with the targeting inhibition of this pathway.
