摘要
《厄舍古屋的倒塌》是美国作家爱伦.坡关于恐怖心理的经典作品,小说中的主要人物———罗德瑞克和玛德琳,作为双胞胎他们外表相似,性格却截然不同。文章主要结合作家生平及其对于宇宙和生死的观念,运用二元对立观点和弗洛伊德关于焦虑症的精神分析理论来解读小说中罗德瑞克这一角色的性格复杂性及其形成原因。
The Fall of the House of Usher is the representative of tales of terror by the famous American novelist Edgar Allan Poe. In this novel, the two major characters, Roderiek and Madeline, as twins of very similar appearance, had totally opposite personalities. This paper tries to explore the complexity of Roderick＇s personalities and the psychological basis by studying the binary opposition between the characters of the Usher twins and Freud＇s anxiety theory.
