As far as the birth and developemnt of literature by Tujia men of letters are concerned, TIAN Jiu - ling＇s elegant poems are of epoch - making significance. His poems wandering between ＂entering the earthly world＂ and ＂leaving the earthly world＂ depict the love song for local mountains and water, and emotion between relatives and friends, in addition, his poems express his concern for the social life and worship for the traditional culture. Ever since his beginning of poetry creation he has merged his writing into the track of Han literature, which objectively illustrates that TIAN Jiu - ling has made great contribution to the mergenee of Han and Tujia cultures.
